Intelligence

Intelligence. What does this word mean to you? At first thought, to me, it means understanding. Being smart, as in knowing factual information, doesn’t equal intelligence to me. I have several pieces of paper in different areas of study, and while they all filled my brain with information, they didn’t necessarily bring intelligence. I feel like my intelligence in the areas I’ve studied came from asking questions and applying the information I gained to create knowledge (which can be argued, do I really have intelligence in these areas? Can anyone, truly? Thing change...). Anyone can read a book, take a class, watch a video, whatever way you like to take information and absorb it. That doesn’t mean we understand it, can apply it and most definitely not teach it. However, teaching something can help deepen our own understanding too. Intelligence is always growing and changing. Every minute on this earth is an opportunity to learn something. Pieces of paper and/or job titles do not equal intelligence in my opinion. Asking questions and then asking questions about your questions leads to intelligence. These are my thoughts at this time anyway, they could always change and I’m looking forward to that.
